Education Programs on Hold

Our education programmes are currently on hold as of 2026 and will remain paused for the foreseeable future. We appreciate your understanding.

Community Events and/or Talks.

We believe conservation works best when communities are informed, inspired, and involved. Our Community Events or Talks bring real, hands-on conservation stories directly to local groups, helping people of all ages understand the challenges facing native species and how they can be part of the solution.

We offer engaging talks on a wide range of conservation topics, with a strong focus on predator control, kiwi recovery, and our involvement in Operation Nest Egg. Drawing on our own on-the-ground experience, our presentations share practical knowledge alongside real-world examples from the projects we manage across Canterbury and beyond.

Talks and/or event can include:

  • Predator Talks - Why introduced predators pose such a significant threat to native wildlife and how predator trapping programmes work.

  • Kiwi Talks - All about our native kiwi, including our role in kiwi recovery with Operation Nest Egg along side Willowbank Wildlife Reserve.

  • Travelling Tuatara - Our travelling Tuatara programme can be adapted to bring to the wider community within Canterbury.

  • Other conservation projects we are involved in, from habitat protection to community-led pest control, what ever your need is we can help

Check out some of the community talks and events we have been involved in, if there is an event or talk you are interested in having us attend please get in touch - we would have to have a chat!

Residence really enjoy our Travelling Tuatara visit, often being the first time many have seen a Tuatara up close and personal. We pride ourselves on be adaptive and able to work within your needs for the enjoyment of all attending. - if you are keen to have us visit your rest home or group please feel free to enquire.

Summer in the Styx Event.

We have really enjoyed attending this amazing yearly event put on by our friend at the Styx Living Laboratory Trust.

Bringing along an informative predator control station where members of the public can come along and learn all about the traplines we have around Canterbury and how to get involved.

In 2026 we included a fun and interactive activity for children to take part in, learning about tracks that not only pests but also some natives might leave in our tracking tunnels. Also learning all about the different pests we are trying to trap, then having a go at clearing a mock trapline of there own.

If you are interested in having us attend one of your public days please reach out, we would be keen to have a chat.
